Just a reminder! If you have not already done so, please remember to register for the conference in Miami, October 11-14. The 2006 FCSS Conference theme is "Social Studies: Passport to Literacy", with a variety of literacy sessions woven throughout the conference.
Peggy Altoff and author Marilyn Shaw will be offering featured sessions, and Marilyn will conduct a book signing. Use this information to solicit funds for registration fees from your SAC. Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Fred Lewis and NCSS President Peggy Altoff will be keynote speakers and over 80 exceptional sessions and nearly 40 exhibitors are scheduled.
Get recharged and load up on those freebies! Great off-site tours are offered to give you a taste of the cultural diversity of Miami. Spaces for these tours are limited and are filling up fast. Sign up now and reserve your seat!
Finally, don't forget about the FCSS Awards Dinner on Friday night.
Scores of your colleagues, outstanding social studies educators and citizens will be honored, and we know you will want to be there.
