Evening at the Fed: Energy and the U.S. Economy

The Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is hosting an economic education event, Evening at the Fed: Energy and the U.S. Economy, on Thursday, September 21, 2006, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  The reception and dinner will be followed by a presentation and discussion of energy issues and the U.S. economy.

The program will provide a forum for school administrators and educators to explore current economic and financial topics that will assist them in helping students translate theory into real-world lessons.

The featured guest will be Dr. Ellis Tallman, Vice President, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The discussion will highlight topics such as policy implications of rising energy prices and the future economic impact of energy costs.

There is no charge for this event, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. The registration deadline is Thursday, September 14, 2006 . To register on-line, please visit our website at http://www.frbatlanta.org/ .   From the home page, select About the Fed, then Economic Education, and then Teacher Workshops.

Certificates for professional development credit hours are available upon request.  If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Arteaga at (904)632-1132 or sarah.e.arteaga@atl.frb.org.
