Return to 50th FCSS Conference is a Huge Success Home
Dear FCSS Members,
Thank you to all of the members who attended the 50th Annual Conference of the Florida Council for the Social Studies. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces and renew friendships. The conference also presented me an opportunity to meet many new people and introduce them to the benefits of membership in FCSS. I think everyone who attended the conference will agree that it was the best conference the council has hosted to date. The facility was magnificent, the presenters knowledgeable and interesting, the exhibitors generous with their expertise and products, and the participants were numerous and enthusiastic. With so many events to choose from, it is hard to express my favorite part of the conference, but I think the biggest “hit” were the new FCSS t-shirts, specifically the “Social Studies Teachers Have Issues”. I have already had many colleagues who weren’t at the conference ask me where they could get one.
Again, thank you for attending, thank you for all of those members who worked so hard to make the conference a success. I hope to see all of you next year at the 2008 Conference at the Hilton inn St. Petersburg, Florida. Have a wonderful school year!
