Return to Welcome new members of FCSS! Home
Greetings From The New District 3 -- Dixie, Gadsden, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla
The FCSS Directors are trying to better serve the needs of social studies teachers in the state by redistricting FCSS and improving representation. Now, we have eight counties in our district, rather than the previous twenty counties. FCSS does so much for our profession and are involved in actively seeking support for classroom teachers and the social studies. I hope that you were able to attend October’s state conference in Orlando. It was quite interesting to see the Republican candidates debating the election issues at the same hotel, in the same rooms that had held the FCSS Conference just one week earlier. The 50th Anniversary celebration was successful; the conference was attended by almost 600 teachers from all areas of Florida.
Please let me know if you have any concerns or if I can help in any way. murphyt@wakulla.k12.fl.us

Hello from District 5! This is a new district number according to the new FCSS reorganization plan that is designed to better serve the teachers of our state.
We look forward to having a contact person in each of our counties to network and share the opportunities available throughout our District. If you are interested in being a contact for your school, let me know! If you have an opportunity or an event happening in your area to promote Social Studies, let me know so we can spread the word.
