Northeast Asia Council of the Association for Asian Studies Offers Grant Opportunity
The spring 2008 grant opportunities available from The Northeast Asia Council (NEAC) of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) are found here.
NEAC promotes research, teaching, conferences, and other events related to Japan and Korea. Grants are available for short-term research travel, for the purchase of instructional materials, for holding pedagogical workshops and small conferences, and for many other kinds of projects.
The spring deadline is fast approaching: all applications must arrive at the AAS office in Ann Arbor, Michigan by February 15, 2008.
The application process is relatively simple and there are a variety of categories in which to apply for funds. The application form and specific information on each grant category is available on the NEAC/AAS website:
http://www.aasianst.org/councils/NEAC.htm
All NEAC grants awarded take the form of reimbursement of actual expenses incurred up to the amount of the grant award. No advance monies are provided.
